4th Annual Targeted Universalism Community of Practice (TU COP)

Seed Collaborative will be offering our 4th annual Targeted Universalism Community of Practice (TU COP) launching September 2026. The national program is a 7-month virtual deep dive into learning and practicing TU to advance belonging and reduce structural and institutional othering.

What is the program?

TU COP is an experiential learning space that supports groups to:

Develop a working knowledge of the seven stages of TU
Cultivate peer relationships, active group discussions and practice application
Hear case studies, grapple with challenges and source the wisdom of the group
Learn about data, evaluation and communications use in TU
Practice situatedness analysis and the design of targeted strategies
Build trust through group shares, breakouts, somatic practice, and arts & culture
Experience the practices of belonging, including bridging and co-creation

Who is it for?

Over 200 people from 25 different states have experienced and enriched our small group TU COPs, from government, nonprofit, philanthropic, academic, health, and social impact sectors.Participants are focused on issues as varied as education, public health, DEI and equity, housing, public works, early childhood, commerce, impact investing, the environment, the judiciary and legal services, and more.

Meeting

2-hour sessions monthly for 7 months (7 sessions)

Monthly group coaching

1-hour sessions monthly for open discussion (optional)

About the Facilitators

Seed Collaborative is the leading practitioner of TU implementation, as featured in the OBI University TU learning module. TU was conceptualized by john a. powell and his colleagues at the Othering & Belonging Institute at UC Berkeley.

Facilitators for the TU COP are Karen Bouris, Paul Hudson, Nina Moreno, Ph.D., Rio Gonzalez, and guest expert, john a. powell.

2026 TU COP Cost & Support

There is a 25% early bird discount available for all sectors (govt, nonprofit, philanthropy, consultants, business) if you register by May 15th 2026. Please proceed through registration and the discounted price will be reflected on the Payment Page.

Group Discount

Organizations sending 2 or more to the COP 2026 are eligible for a 20% discount (after early bird discount deadline) from the tuition. Please let us know on your Enrollment application that there are multiples from your organization attending.
