Targeted Universalism Community of Practice
Both strategy and healing for this moment and beyond—learn to apply Targeted Universalism while also practicing belonging
Over 200 change makers from 25 states—across government, philanthropy, nonprofits, and social impact—have already joined our TU COP and the movement to implement Targeted Universalism and Belonging.
I would describe the TU Community of Practice as a space that thoughtfully bridges theory and practice. It offers clear frameworks on Targeted Universalism, while also inviting you to reflect on your own context and apply what you’re learning in real time.
What stood out to me is the balance between structure and openness—there’s room to engage intellectually, but also to show up authentically and learn from the lived experiences of others.
It’s a community where you can both deepen your understanding and explore how to bring this work into your own institution or practice. I would recommend it to anyone who is interested in moving beyond conversations about equity and belonging into actionable, relationship-centered approaches. – Lakiba Pittman, Menlo College
4th Annual Targeted Universalism Community of Practice (TU COP)
ENROLLMENT OPEN! Seed’s TU COP program is designed to support the practice and application of TU to address structural othering and inequity while advancing an affirmative, outcomes-focused universal goal and experience of belonging. Dynamic and experiential, the TU COP is 7-months long and includes: dynamic learning modules, group work and discussion, case studies, pre-reads and materials, individual and group coaching sessions.
“Organized, thoughtful, well-designed sessions to further your equity journey.”—Katie Cheng, Omidyar Network
The experience was enlightening, intentional, and really provides guidance around how to tackle large organizational goals from a holistic standpoint. It has given me support around how to name the work and goals we’re trying to achieve within our organization. I loved it! —Lindsey Bedford, Child Action, Inc.

“I am now confident in my approach in identifying the needs of student groups in a way that brings educators together rather than the typical let’s put the needs of one group over another. There is authenticity and diversity. The facilitators are approachable, inclusive, and embody their work.”—Monique Luke, Sonoma County Office of Education
